Course content

AS modules cover memory, attachments, stress, definitions of abnormality, eating disorders, conformity, obedience, research methods and ethical issues.

A2 module topics include aggression, sleep, motivation, treatment of mental disorders, and issues and approaches in psychology.

Throughout the course psychological theories and studies are compared and analysed critically. Approaches include research using library resources and the internet, presentation of talks, and class discussions.

Students learn how to carry out and write up their own psychological studies, with human participants.
