Course content
This GCE is one of a new family of vocationally-focused AS/A2 qualifications. It will provide you with a broad introduction to the subject and prepare you for study in higher education, the qualification attracts UCAS points in the same way as ordinary GCES.
The course provides the chance to study many aspects of performing arts. It develops performance skills in dance, drama and related techniques as well as providing opportunities to learn about stage management, lighting, set and costume design and marketing. You will investigate historical and cultural influences and thereby explore visual, literary and musical arts too.
The course is essentially practical though there are written assignments linked to the practical work. You will have chances to work as part of project teams. You will have the freedom to specialise or to work across the various disciplines.
