We are delighted to now be an International Baccalaureate World School and to be able to offer our students the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Autumn 2009. Courses leading to the award of the prestigious IB Diploma are an exciting alternative to A Levels.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification. it consists of a two year programme of study for 16-19 year olds.
The International Baccalaureate curriculum is genuinely broad and balanced. Students choose one subject from each of six subject groups:
- Language
- Individuals and societies
- Mathematics and computer science
- The arts
- Experimental sciences
- Second language
Students will normally take three subjects at higher level (approximagely equivalent to A2) and three subjects at standard level.
The International Baccalaureate Great, but why?
‘A first class ticket to the world’ ‘A path of learning for the broad minded’ ‘Breadth is best’ ‘Seal of approval from universities’
