Course content

AS units cover cell structure, molecules, enzymes, chromosomes and DNA, protein synthesis, exchange of gases between organisms and their environment, transport in flowering plants and animals; sexual reproduction; human nutrition, energy flow and nutrient cycles in ecosystems, and human influences on the environment.

A2 units cover respiration and coordination: patterns of inheritance, speciation, photosynthesis, succession and stability in ecosystems, biodiversity and gene technology. There is also an option topic: Human Health and Fitness.
