Course content
A BTEC First Diploma is a practical/ work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
It introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.
What is the course structure?
The course is made up of six units - three core units that everyone takes and three specialist units.
How is the course assessed?
All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
It is equivalent to 4 GCSE's A* - C
Units
All students take the three core units
• Introduction to the Travel and Tourism Industry
• Introduction to Tourist Destinations
• Introduction to Customer Service in Travel and Tourism
You take three specialist units from:
• Introduction to Marketing in Travel and Tourism
• Introduction to Business in Travel and Tourism
• Organising a Travel and Tourism Event
• Work Based Project
• Travel and Tourism Study Visit
